Not what you think, pervs, or was that just me. pause. This vid is about the “Amen” break, a 6 second drum break that is integral in various genres of music. Our resident musicologists Woof and Matik might be able to expand on this a bit more. Never mind the corny sounding voiceover on this joint, its real informative. Due the knowledge.

    Yea The Winstons - Amen Brother….. It pretty muched was THE break that created the genre Drum & Bass that took over the UK landscape in the 90’s. one of the greatest and furious breaks out there other then Apache by the Incredible Bongo Band or Funky drummer by James Brown.

    Correction : the break defined the genre of Jungle and Drum n Bass. It’s called jungle for the fact that at the parties in the UK, the emcees would shout out “where are the junglists out there?”, meaning the jamaicans and whatnot.
